HER STORY:
Bilu was found on the street next to her deceased sibling, in a critical condition. She was suffering from severe respiratory distress and time was running out. She was taken to a veterinary clinic, where X-rays revealed a diaphragmatic hernia, a critical and life-threatening condition requiring urgent surgery. Unfortunately, the people who found her had decided on euthanasia. However, we could not allow that to happen. With high risk and very little chance of survival (she weighed only 800g), she was rushed into surgery. After the operation, she was hospitalized for some time in an oxygen chamber. Our little fighter made it and survived!
Today, she is being fostered by volunteers of our team and is now searching for the home she truly deserves.
Shortly before the surgery that saved her life.
After the surgery, waiting for her to wake up.

CHARACTER:
Bilu is a fearful cat, but with time, patience and a calm environment, she can learn to feel safe and build confidence. She is not a cat that will necessarily demand constant affection, but she can grow into a more relaxed and secure companion. When she was younger, she enjoyed human interaction, which shows that this side of her still exists. There was even a period in her adult life when she would jump onto the bed and lie between our legs, accepting affection while she slept. She coexists peacefully with both dogs and cats, so living with other animals is easy for her, provided proper introductions and gradual adjustment are given.
